The Good, the Bad and the Tag

Journal Entry: Wed Jul 1, 2009, 2:49 AM

Good + Bad
Originally I was going to talk about stuff, but I filled out the tag first, which took ages, and now I can't be bothered.

Tag
Thank you KurisuKun4, dear, for making my day that little bit more fulfilling.

1. Post the rules.
2. Each tagged person must tell 8 things about themselves
3. At the end you have to tag 8 people and post their icons in your journal
4. Then go back to their page and leave a comment saying you tagged them
5. No tag backs

1. My desk is surrounded by 3 posters of James Hetfield, a figurine of Sanji, and a Hellboy poster. No wonder it's so hot in here 8D

2. My external hard drive is, in layman's terms, fucked. I need to go to an apple store and get a new one, but my dad is lazy and will do it on some undetermined 'other day'.

3. I have a very high library book fine that I haven't paid yet, as my stupid library card apparently gives me less time to read them now, and the library didn't notify me that they were overdue until ages after.

4. I have sunburn.

5. I quit my new job this morning.

6. To my right, I can see many things, including a Pocohontas jigsaw puzzle, and an Aladdin fuzzy felt set.

7. I "borrowed" a Marshall guitar amp from my previous boyfriend and never gave it back xD

8. I'm very hungry right now but we have no decent food in the house.

Hey you! How'd your interview go?

Erm... well I suppose in theory it went really well! Guy said I came across as really confident and everything, and I got the job, and started today. Which... didn't go so well, haha. Basically, I found out the job is trying to sell people stuff on the street, and I'm not really pushy enough to be a saleswoman in the first place. Add to that that it's 9 miles away (not technically far I know, but it's in the wrong direction for London Transport and so goes out of range and onto lots of different services, which is really expensive and confusing), the job involves being on your feet all day in our current heatwave, for long hours, long car journeys around south east england each day, and you only get paid for what sales you do as well.

To cap it all, I've been freeloading lifts with my Dad who drives past there on his way to and from work, but he's going on holiday next week so I'll be up at 5am and home at 9pm.

In short, I'm quitting in the morning.

For what it's worth: I don't think you should quit. Not this soon! That which does not kill you makes you stronger. And you should learn what you can from every experience, every opportunity you have. Of course, I'm not your Dad, but I play one in real life!

Too late, I just quit! I know what you mean, and I'd never normally quit a job without having another one to go to as well. But it was only a temporary job anyway, and I'll keep up my endless trawl through shop windows and newspapers.

I'm pretty thick-skinned. I'd be happy to deal with a job that was either weird hours, a long distance away, irregular pay, or involving being treated like scum by the general public. But when you put them all together, it's a bit much.

I did gain something from it however! The day I was working, instead of staying in the area, my group was sent out to Maidstone about 2 hours away, which is conveniently where I'm planning on going to university next year, so I had the chance to have a look around the area, and it's really nice.

Well, at least it wasn't all for naught!
